The Black Keys :: Listen to "Lonely Boy"

With the music of popular culture being dominated by the high pitched croons of J. Biebs and the fierce dancing of divas like Beyoncé, the validity of music in the 21^st  century is…questionable. Not trying to dis those who love Beyoncé (I mean we all know she’s fierce) but, sometimes I feel like I’m drowning in musical mediocrity. 

Have we lost our connections to the foundations of rock n roll and in turn lost a little part of music history?

Is this the future of music?

NOPE. Not with the Black Keys around kickin' musical butt.

The soulful indie duo of Dan Auerbach (guitar and lead vocals) and Patrick Carney (drummer) will be releasing their 7th full length album El Camino on December 6, 2011. BUT, December is a long ways away and I know that the sooner I hear new music the better. Thankfully we don't have to wait!!! Today the Black Keys released the video for the album's first single "Lonely Boy".

The video was directed by Jesse Dylan and is very much a reflection of the bands musical style. The video captures a single man awkwardly dancing and singing along to the song and could not be any better. No flashy gags, no over the top dance sequences, no synth beats dominating the sound, just music and dancing. BRAVO!
